About Department

The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1999-2000 with a view of imparting state of the art education in cutting edge technologies of the world. The sanctioned intake in 1999 was 60 students per year. The Department has since seen tremendous growth in all areas. The chemical engineering department is housed in an ultramodern complex, and has well equipped laboratories with modern equipment. It is the only Chemical Engineering department Accredited by NBA, New Delhi in the RTM Nagpur University region amongst all affiliated Engineering Colleges. Since biotechnology has close links with chemical engineering in areas such as reactor design, processing and modeling it is being considered an extension of the department of chemical engineering.

Chemical Engineering Department got AICTE approval for the Post Graduation Course, M.Tech in Chemical Engineering during the year 2010-11 with the intake of 18 Students per year. The Department also got RTMNU recognition for Research work in Chemical Engineering (PhD). The alumnus and the students are the stars of the department & have always excelled in University examinations and are well placed in the corporate sector globally. The department is always at the forefront when it comes to technology and to keep itself abreast with the newer happenings, it organizes several activities like guest lectures, seminars, workshops and industrial visits. Department has well equipped & state of the art laboratories constructed with an investment more than Rs. 0.5 crore till date.
