About Department
The Department of Applied Chemistry which works for the strong foundation stone of the budding engineers in the field of applied Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Environmental studies. The Department of Applied chemistry strives for enhancing knowledge, critical thinking and strengthening the problem-solving capability of the students.
Team of highly qualified faculty members and experienced non-teaching staff headed by Dr Seema Shrivastava, provides a vibrant atmosphere to students and faculty to nurture the spirit of scientific enquiry and to pursue cutting-edge research in a highly encouraging environment.
Extremely capable, well qualified faculty members are engaged in teaching and research activities with a strong motivation and commitment and have good number of publications. Several faculty members have been elected as members of various bodies at university level. The faculty has been active in organizing and participating Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, scientific meetings from time to time and they are being invited to deliver lectures at various national and international conferences, short term training programmes and symposia.
The Department has two well equipped and spacious laboratories with good infrastructure and one research laboratory with advanced instruments. The curiosity driven frontier research in chemical sciences encapsulating the related interdisciplinary areas for sustainable development synergistic with effective teaching – learning process remains the strength of the Department. In addition, a continuous Testing and analysis of samples, are carried out in collaborations with different Industries and is also involved in various consultancy projects. A trans formative experience in the class room and laboratory create a great impact on engineering students. The teachers of the department of Applied Chemistry keep on engaging the students through constant learning process to shape their career to cope up with rest of the world in all engineering streams. It also results in making good human being with patriotism.
