Future Scope : Computer Technology  is a discipline that combines both Electrical engineering and Computer Science. Computer engineers usually have training in electrical engineering, software design and hardware- software  integration  instead  of  only  software  engineering  or  electrical  engineering.  Computer engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of engineering not only focuses on how computer systems themselves work, but also how they integrate into the larger picture.

Computer engineers are involved in writing software and firmware for embedded microcontrollers, designing VLSI chips, designing analog sensors, designing mixed signal circuit boards, and designing operating systems. Computer engineers are also suited for robotics research which relies heavily on using digital systems to control and monitor electrical systems like motors, communications, and sensors.

 

About department : The department is equipped with a rich and modern computing infrastructure and has well qualified and experienced faculty. The computer centre and various other labs of the department are all connected in a LAN which is a part of the campus wide network. Multiple network operating systems s along with various software packages are available on the LAN. The department provides wide exposure to the students in keeping up with the fast changing scenario both in computer software and hardware. Equipped with the latest development tools, the department also undertakes industry and research oriented projects giving the students very valuable experience and exposure.

Future Scope : Information Technology (IT), as defined by the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA), is “The study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware”. Information Technology deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit, and securely retrieve information. Information Technology is a general term that describes any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate, and/or disseminate information.

Information Technology professionals perform a variety of duties that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. They are suited for data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design, as well as the management and administration of entire systems.

Aeronautical Engineers work with one of the most technologically advanced branches of engineering. The main thrust in this area is on design and development of aircrafts to space and satellite research. Jobs are available with the national, international, public and private Airline Services as well as aircraft-manufacturing units Job opportunities for an Aeronautical Engineer in India, lies with various airlines like Air India, Indian Airlines,  Helicopter Corporation of India and flying clubs, private airlines and government owned air service and aircraft manufacturers like the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) with its factories at Bangalore, Nashik, Koraput, Kanpur etc. Defense Research and Development Laboratories, National Aeronautical Lab (NAL), Aeronautical Development Establishment, Civil Aviation Department etc. The Defence services and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) also happen to be two major employers.

As Nagpur is resided to the core centre of India with grand MIHAN Project, the college will provide required technocrats to fulfill the employability of MIHAN.

Future Scope : Civil engineering is the engineering discipline that deals with design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams, and buildings. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. Civil engineers design, build, and manage the infrastructure of civilization, which includes buildings, bridges, highways, water supply systems, and other public works. These services are the cornerstone of the discipline, although no longer the limiting scope. The civil and environmental engineering programs include structural engineering, structural mechanics, geotechnical engineering, earthquake engineering, hydrology and water resources engineering, and environmental engineering.

Civil engineers play a vital role in creating the man-made environment and in protecting the natural environment, bringing together science and art to create much of the tangible fabric of today's society. They plan, design, construct, maintain, and manage airports, bridges, tunnels, buildings, harbor facilities, dams, highways, waterways, pipelines, sanitation systems, and other aspects of the built environment.

Civil Engineering is a Profession of designing and executing structural works that serve the general public, holding the safety, health, and welfare of the public paramount". Civil engineering is a broad field of engineering dealing with the planning, design, construction, maintenance and management of physical infrastructure networks.

 

About Department :  Construction and housing sector have become the major growth drivers in the Indian economy. The Civil branch is gaining more importance due to the need to create structures and buildings resisting to earthquake and other natural calamities.with this in mind the Civil Engineering department is started. The department envisages to create world class civil engineers. the department is equipped with the required infrastructure and the state-of-the-art laboratories.

Future Scope : Electrical Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. It covers a range of subtopics including power electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunication. Electrical engineers are usually concerned with using electricity to transmit energy, while Electronics engineers are concerned with using electricity to transmit information.

The growing utilization of the electrical energy is a decisive prerequisite for a rapid development of industry and agriculture. The branch of electrical engineering mainly deals with the generation, distribution and utilization of electrical energy. As electrical energy is required every where, opportunities for electrical engineers exist in every sphere of modern life, from manufacturing to process industries, from robotics to embedded systems, from automobile to transport, from aviation to navigation.

Work of an Electrical Engineer includes: Assessing the maximum demand of Electrical Power, Designing and calculating a prospective electrical installation etc. They may work on the design of electrical circuits, electrical machines, generation & distribution of electrical power, electrical drives & controls, for various applications of electric power stations, the lighting and wiring of buildings, the design of household appliances or the electrical control of industrial machinery.

 

About Department : The course of Electronics & Power was started in 1995-96. The structure of the degree is recently changed by the University and now the nomenclature of the course is Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Power). The department has well furnished and spacious laboratories as per AICTE norms with state of the art equipment in all the laboratories. The teaching faculty is well qualified and experienced.  The faculty is actively involved in research and consultancy. The department provides wide exposure to the students in keeping up with the fast changing scenario .The department has two computer centers with sixty nodes each all connected in LAN through campus wide networking and also connected to Internet by 2 Mbps leased line. There is an active IEEE student’s chapter and, in addition there is an Electrical Engineering Students Forum (EESF) which gives a platform to the students for overall development.

Electronics & Telecommunications engineering is a constantly changing and widening branch of the engineering profession having applications in every discipline of engineering. Increased production and demand by government and businesses for communication equipment, computers and military electronics along with consumer demand and increased research and development on robots and other types of automation contributes to the growth of employment opportunities in the field. Candidates having a creative and inventive mind and also are good at physics and mathematics will probably find electronics engineering a challenging and lucrative career.

Future Scope : Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline which involves the application of principles of  Physics for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. It requires a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, energy and manufacturing.  Mechanical engineers use the core principles as well as other knowledge in the field to design and analyze motor vehicles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems, watercraft, manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, robotics, medical devices, etc.

The work of a Mechanical Engineer can be extremely challenging and fulfilling, requiring IT, design and analytical skills together with an ability to work as a team. As their work involves production, transmission and use of mechanical power and heat, they have to analyze the different materials used for the machines; investigate the different energy sources and the power they generate and the design problems if any. While designing and making a commercial product; they have to take into account all the business and marketing aspects to make sure that the product is affordable. Mechanical Engineers are employed in various industries whose function is concerned with design, manufacturing, maintenance, mining, transportation, communications, oil refining, chemical manufacturing, paper, sugar, textiles, aerospace, nuclear energy, natural gas production and transmission, construction, etc.

 

About Department : Mechanical Engineering Department was established in 1990. The intake of UG Course is 120. The department  has also introduced post graduate course in Mechanical Engg. Design approved by AICTE with effect from 2002-2003. The intake of PG Course is 25. The department took initiative in holding National Symposium on cryogenics in 1999 and IPRoMM in 2000. The international conference on IFToMM was organised on 11th to 14th July, 2006. The department has highly qualified staff with industrial experience. Department undertakes R&D activities and consultancy assignments extensively. The students of the department also excel in the University and secure merit ranks every year.

The head of the department is Dr.K.S.Zakiuddin. The Central workshop with an area of 40,000 sqft. has a separate building. The workshop has six major sections namely, fitting, carpentry, welding, smithy, foundry, machine. It is fully equipped with machines which ranges from conventional engine lathe to contemporary CNC machine. The Department has excellent in all the fields and gained the reputation in short span of time. The Department is also recongnised as a approved Research Center, RTM, Nagpur University. At present 25 candidates from various regions of state are pursuing Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Three staff members of the Department are recognized as a Research Supervisor for guiding the Ph.D. of Mechanical Engineering under the faculty of Engineering and Technology.  The Department is accrediated by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi.
