The department of Information Technology started in 2001. The department has a good infrastructure and well-qualified, highly experienced staff. The faculty members have presented papers at several National and International conferences and journals.

• The laboratories of the department are equipped with computers of latest configuration and internet facility. They also have latest software’s, wireless access point and a separate router.

• The department has a rare distinction of 80% results in final year, right from first batch, which passed out in 2004-05.

• Under the departmental forum DIGITS Guest lectures, Training programs and Workshops are conducted regularly for students and staff with the help of experts from industries and renowned academic institutions.

• The department conducts Parent-Teachers meet regularly to keep the parents updated about their wards progress.

• About 80% students from eligible students of final year batch are being placed with reputed software companies like Infosys Technologies Ltd, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, TCS, HSBC, PATNI, WIPRO, L&T InfoTech, Global Logic, Capegemini, etc.

A National Conference on RECENT TRENDS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORAMTION TECHNOLOGY (NCRTCSIT-16) was organized in February-16 which was sponsored by ISTE.

The department is equipped with a rich and modern computing infrastructure and has well qualified and experienced faculties. The computer centre and various other labs of the department are all connected in a LAN which is a part of the campus wide network.

Multiple network operating systems such as Novell Netware, Windows XP, SCO Unix and Red Hat Linux along with various software packages are available on the LAN.

The department provides wide exposure to the students in keeping up with the fast changing scenario both in computer software and hardware. Equipped with the latest development tools, the department also undertakes industry and research oriented projects giving the students very valuable experience and exposure

DIGITS, the student forum of Information Technology Department of our college is a vibrant forum which came out of its shells ready to take on all activities with full endeavour in the year 2007,since then, it has organized National level events and has combined with Jigyasa 2007,2008,2009,2010 & 2011.

Students were elected on basis of their interest,performance and talent.ᅠ Various committees headed by teacher-in charges are formed by taking students from various semesters to organize various events. This forum helps students in overall development of personality.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE OF OUR STUDENTS..........

 

11 April ’16:  We all travel using public transportations and railway is one of the major source of daily transportation. Thinking of travelling through train immediately clicks in mind about rush and chaos that shall be faced to make journey successful. Those rush and huge crowd may include people travelling illegally i.e. travelling without ticket.

 

Final year I.T Students of Priyadarshini College of Engineering, Nagpur named Shahid Sheikh, Nikhil Lade, Dnyandeep Tirpude, Abhishek Tiwary, Prateek Gharde have developed a system called “RAILWAY SECURITY SYSTEM” which do not allow passenger without ticket to travel or use railway resources. This system generate the railway tickets and authenticate them to valid passenger using their unique PNR number. The railway ticket will contain a QR codes that are unique among themselves. This QR Code consist of some encrypted code .When the passenger goes to the railway station to board the train they have to scan the tickets in front of scanner. If the ticket is valid then only the gates will open otherwise the gate remains closed. The system will contain a database that will keep a track of all transactions. Such flexibility is useful to improve the security and maintenance of the organization.

 

We have participated in various competitions and exhibitions like COMP-EX ’16. We have won 5 Project competitions from various engineering colleges, and got very good appreciation from all people who had gone through our Project. Not only this, we have taken feedbacks from the locals around them. Maximum people showed up their interest to involve such concept in real life. Security is necessary for everyone, and they have taken steps toward that.
